Building Tomorrow's Game Worlds

We started with a simple belief — that creating immersive 3D environments shouldn't be reserved for industry veterans. Since 2019, we've been turning that vision into reality.

From Passion Project to Educational Pioneer

It began during late nights in a cramped Zagreb apartment. Our founder, Matej Kovačić, was wrestling with complex 3D modeling software, trying to recreate the stunning environments he admired in games like The Witcher 3 and Horizon Zero Dawn.

The learning curve was brutal. Scattered tutorials, outdated documentation, and a community that often felt exclusive rather than welcoming. But somewhere between his fiftieth failed attempt at realistic terrain texturing and a breakthrough moment with volumetric lighting, he realized something important.

The gap wasn't just in his knowledge — it was in how 3D environment creation was being taught. Most resources either oversimplified the basics or threw students into advanced techniques without proper foundation.

By 2019, that frustration had transformed into Study Code. We moved to Velika Gorica, assembled a team of industry professionals who shared our teaching philosophy, and started building something different.

Luka Petric, Senior Environment Artist

Luka Petrić

Senior Environment Artist

Spent eight years creating worlds for AA studios before joining our team in 2021. His specialty in procedural terrain generation has revolutionized how we teach landscape creation.

Dominik Novak, Technical Director

Dominik Novak

Technical Director

Former lead technical artist at Croteam, where he optimized environments for The Talos Principle 2. Now he teaches the intersection of artistry and performance.

Our Evolution Story

2019

Foundation and First Steps

Launched with 12 students and a single course focused on basic 3D modeling. Our first classroom was actually a converted garage, but the enthusiasm was infectious. Those initial students became our biggest advocates.

2021

Industry Recognition

Received our first Croatian Digital Education Award for innovative curriculum design. More importantly, three of our graduates joined major European studios, proving our approach was working in the real world.

2023

Advanced Specializations

Expanded into advanced areas like real-time lighting, procedural generation, and VR environment optimization. Our partnership with Unity Technologies brought cutting-edge tools directly to students.

2025

Next-Generation Learning

Introducing AI-assisted workflow integration and sustainable game development practices. Our September 2025 cohort will be the first to experience our completely redesigned curriculum structure.
